Mr Inbetween, FX Australia’s six part adaptation/continuation of the 2005 underappreciated indie hitman flick, The Magician, has commenced production, with Blue-Tongue Films’ Nash Edgerton calling the shots in his TV series debut. As in its previous incarnation, the show follows a workaday assassin, Ray Shoesmith, as he goes about his deadly trade in the Sydney underworld, encountering all sorts of colourful characters and adverse situations. The original creator, Scott Ryan, is on board, and will reprise his role as our man Ray.

Said Edgerton, “I couldn’t be more thrilled to see Scott Ryan’s wonderfully dangerous character, Ray Shoesmith, come to life once again.”

Also in the cast mix are Brooke Satchwell (Jack Irish, Wonderland, Packed To The Rafters), Justin Rosniak (War Machine, Animal Kingdom, Underbelly), Edmund Lembke-Hogan (The Killing Fields, Anti-Adults), Nicholas Cassim (Wish You Were Here, Around The Block), Damon Herriman (No Activity, Justified, 100 Bloody Acres), Natalie Tran (YouTube star of Community Channel), David Michôd (writer/director The Rover, Animal Kingdom, War Machine), Firass Dirani (House Husbands, Underbelly), Benedict Hardie (Hacksaw Ridge, The Light Between Oceans) and Matt Nable (Bikie Wars, Jasper Jones). That’s pretty impressive.

Mr Inbetween is currently shooting in and around Sydney, and will hit Foxtel exclusively from early 2018.
