The award winning documentary Eyeless in Gaza will have red carpet premieres in Sydney and Melbourne prior to its release via iTunes, Amazon and YouTube on demand in March. Directed by Martin Himel and produced by Robert Magid, Eyeless In Gaza is an eye-opening examination of the allegedly flawed international media coverage of the Gazan War in 2014.
Rather than an investigative report by the media, Eyeless in Gaza is an investigative report of the media. Through interviews with Israeli and Palestinian combatants and civilians, Hamas leaders, UN Officials, analysts and journalists on the ground during the Israeli-Gaza conflict of 2014, Himel arrives at some troubling conclusions. Eyeless in Gaza explores how skewed coverage of the conflict informed international public opinion of the conflict, largely painting Israel as the aggressor, and why the media failed to tell both sides of the story.
Eyeless in Gaza screens in Melbourne on Monday, 20 February, at the Classic Cinema, and Sydney on Thursday, 2 March, at the Ritz Cinema.
