Seymour Pictures, a Sydney-based production company headed up by Orla Doyle, Julia Gardell and Peter Skinner recently made their feature debut with the latter’s Two Ugly People, which premiered at CinefestOZ.

Now they are following up with Hold Still, written and directed by 25 year old Orla Doyle, who previously made web series Sirens.

Hold Still is shooting in scenic Glenorchy and Queenstown in New Zealand, and follows a photographer (Gardell) who is haunted by a premonition of her own death. When she arrives for an artist’s residency in New Zealand and falls for a deer hunter (Arlo Green), “the lines between desire and dread blur before her lens, [as] she begins to suspect that fate brought her here for a reason, one she may not survive,” reads the press release.

“It’s a complete dream come true to be able to bring Hold Still to life with this incredible cast and crew amongst the most beautiful, wild and awe-inspiring New Zealand landscapes,” says Doyle. “I’ve been so fortunate that Glenorchy and its atmosphere-drenched surroundings have served as inspiration for this story from the very beginning, so to be here now surrounded by such a high calibre of talent, and all the friends and supporters we’ve made along the way, is truly an honour.”
