Finally we’re gonna see what ol’ Lando Calrissian has been up to for the last 30-odd space years. The Hollywood Reporter is saying that Billy Dee Williams is set to reprise his role as the gambler turned minor noble/space administrator in JJ Abrams’ as-yet-untitled Star Wars Episode IX.
Honestly, we kind of assumed this would happen, despite early reports that Williams’ poor health precluded his particiaption in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. We also kind of assume that he’ll probably be killed off, but we could be wrong.
No further info has emerged about what Lando will be up to in the new film, which starts shooting next month, and – given Abrams’ “Mystery Box” nonsense, in all likelihood none will be. But hey – Lando’s back, baby!
