Box Office Report: March 2 – 5, 2023

Despite lukewarm reviews and no sign of Sly Stallone, Creed III knocked out the competition at the box office this weekend. Meanwhile, a barely promoted new Demon Slayer anime, um, slayed, and the Oscar hopefuls continue to hang around on screens, with below par screen averages; apart from Aftersun which is riding the global buzz for this strange but compelling film. Encanto was also re-released on 200+ screens this weekend for strange 1-off screenings, and performed accordingly for a film that's hardly fresh and is readily available on Disney+.
