A strong opening for what some believe is the best entry in the Venom franchise, allegedly the last in the series. Meanwhile, another third entry in a series, Terrifier 3 continues to terrify on wide release, on a tiny production budget, and a non-existent local marketing campaign. Another scary success story is the female-helmed and themed body horror The Substance, which continues to attract the punters in its sixth week on a mid-range release. In terms of Australian films, it seems that the potential extinction of our iconic koalas has inspired 44 cinemas to screen 2015’s Blinky Bill the Movie for the second week in a row, hopefully keeping the moppets entertained during those early morning sessions.
