This year’s box office for Australian cinema has been disappointing, to say the least, with indie docos such as The Road to Patagonia and The Trust Fall: Julian Assange, doing more business with random one-off screenings than most general releases – check out the screen average on The Way, My Way on 53 screens! So, how did the Adam Demos/Radha Mitchell highly personal MS themed love story Take My Hand fare on its opening weekend? More of the same unfortunately. Meanwhile, the punters cannot get enough of the Coraline 15th Anniversary re-issue. Maybe we should be re-releasing old Australian films? Now, there’s an idea.
