James McAvoy’s standout performance in Speak No Evil seems to have worked a treat, with the horror/thriller remake of the 2022 Danish chiller of the same name doing respectable business on wide release. The same can’t be said for Australian period piece Kid Snow, which feels like it was released in cinemas as an afterthought. Meanwhile, audiences can’t seem to get enough of NT Live’s Prima Facie, written by Australian Suzie Miller, so we’ll claim that one as our own. Speaking of our own, the 30 year anniversary reissue of one of our great films, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, did modest business this weekend, which will hopefully pick up over the next few days.
