James Wan’s Aquaman movie will shoot in Australia next year, according to a report in The Daily Telegraph. The sea-set superhero movie is set to shoot in Britain’s Leavesden Studios, with location shooting taking place during the Australian summer. According to its IMDB page, shooting will take place at Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast.

Now, that could mean January/February or December, but with star Jason Momoa committed to the remake of The Crow, which is due to start production in January, a later shooting date would make sense. Aquaman is scheduled for a mid-2018 release, so either scenario leaves plenty of time for post-production.

Aquaman will be the first of at least three films to spin out of DC/Warner’s upcoming Justice League movie, along with The Flash and Cyborg. Jason Momoa stars alongside Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe and Michael K. Williams.
