The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) announced today that it is seeking 16 juries across feature film, short film, television and documentary, to judge the 7th annual AACTA Awards.
In line with AACTA’s promotion of gender equity and cultural diversity, members from all backgrounds and from all screen crafts are encouraged to apply.
AACTA have also announced that, following industry consultation, the Feature Length Documentary jury process will henceforth be open to all AACTA members with documentary credits, known as AACTA’s Documentary Branch. Collectively, the Documentary Branch will take on the role of the Feature Length Documentary Jury, selecting the Feature Length Documentary nominees and shortlisting craft candidates via preferential vote.
AACTA CEO Damian Trewhella said, “AACTA strives to achieve inclusive jury processes that are reflective of excellence within all Awards categories. Engaging the members of AACTA’s Documentary Branch will see the Australian documentary community become more extensively involved with the AACTA Awards, as well as seeing more reflective results in the craft categories through the utilisation of a broad pool of craft practitioners in the determination of nominees and candidate shortlists.”
