NWR’s latest provocation is Copenhagen Cowboy, a six-part noir-thriller for Netflix. This revenge tale follows renegade criminal Miu (Angela Bundalovic) as she stalks her way through the Copenhagen underworld seeking out her nemesis (Lola Corfixen).
Copenhagen Cowboy sees Refn returning to the small screen after delivering his ten-part series Too Old to Die Young for Amazon in 2019; it also marks his first Danish language work since his last Pusher film in 2005.
Whether he’s working on the big screen or small, Refn’s maximalist style always packs a punch. Expect seedy nightclubs, ultraviolence, tracky dacks and lots and lots of neon.
Copenhagen Cowboy drops on Netflix on January 5, 2023.
