Looks like it won’t be last rites for The Conjuring films, with the latest, and allegedly last instalment opening to a mammoth $12k screen average last weekend. That, and the dwindling returns on Kangaroo Island – advertised incessantly as a big hit with audiences – makes us think that the old adage of word of mouth as king at the box office, is well and truly a thing of the past.
