Marvel Studios gets all self-reflexive with their new Disney+ series Wonder Man, which sees the return of Iron Man 3 scene-stealer Sir Ben Kingsley, whose ham-fisted, down-on-his-luck actor Trevor Slattery mixes it up with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s wannabe actor Simon Williams, who also happens to have, wouldn’t you know it, super-powers. With Croatian-Danish actor Zlatko Buric also on hand as an eccentric film director, and the inclusion of Marvel’s Department Of Damage Control, this broadly humorous take on one of the comic book powerhouse’s lesser characters looks like it could be this year’s She-Hulk…which will be great for some, and not so great for others…
