This animated short penned by Melissa Johnson (who also narrates the film and co-directed) is inspired by her own struggles, and relays the hilarious and awkward misadventures of a 6’4’’ tall woman who is a star on the basketball court but struggles to find true love.

With the aid of Australian animators ay KAPWA Studioworks, Aussie director Robertino Zambrana used a combination of traditional 2D animation techniques, hand gestured textures and digital 2D and 3D animation to bring Melissa story to life. Watch the results for yourself in the trailer below.

The film is one of just ten works shortlisted for Best Animated Short at the 2016 Oscars, with the nominees to be announced in January.
