Jessica Lange, who portrayed Wahlberg’s mom, and Brie Larson, who played a teenager and part-time cashier in one of the secret casinos, were lauded by critics and audiences. So, if you’re seeking an action-packed thriller that you won’t be able to stop watching, this is the show for you.

During the making of the film, the two developed a friendship that endured until Thompson’s death in 2005.

Croupier was an instant hit in the United States, despite a mediocre reception in the United Kingdom. Croupier stars Clive Owen as an aspiring writer who takes a job as a croupier to make ends meet in one of the best neo-noir films of the late 1990s.
Owen’s character is dragged into the casino scene, exposing the negative aspects of gambling to the audience.
But don’t assume any high-stakes poker sequences in this film. Croupier takes a unique look at betting, including the players’ personalities, their fortunes and misfortunes, and the life of an ignored croupier.
