The enigmatic and litigious creator of The Room, Tommy Wiseau, is back. Best F(r)iends will see Wiseau and his The Room co-star, Greg Sestero, play a drifter and a mortician on a road trip. Sestero, whose tell-all memoir about the making of The Room, The Disaster Artist, is a must-read, wrote the story, basing it on a road trip he and Wiseau took in 2003. Here’s the trailer:

It’s certainly a more polished bit of business than The Room, which isn’t saying much. It kind of feels like a DTV post-Tarantino ’90s indie – chalk that up to Greg Fong directing, rather than Wiseau. There’s no release date yet, but surely this will get snapped up by the arthouse circuit – for better or worse, there is a market.
