Ahead of its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May, Nicolas Winding Refn’s latest has scored itself a beautiful new poster featuring star Elle Fanning in an ambiguously languorous pose.
The Neon Demon draws on the Italian giallo tradition to tell the story of Jesse (Fanning), an up and coming model who falls into the orbit of Allessandro Nivola’s saturnine fashionista, in the process discovering that the glamour of the fashion industry conceals a world of bloodshed and horror. As you do. Jena Malone, Abbey Lee, Christina Hendricks and Keanu Reeves co-star.
An Australian release date has yet to be announced, but hopefully it’ll get a better shake than Only God Forgives.
