Rocco Simpson
If you’re an avid fan of the show, and wish to learn more interesting facts related to it, here are many of them, in numbers! For instance, number of notable character deaths, demogorgon appearances, telekinesis and telepathy uses, visits to the upside down and more. Onto the locations now!
Starcourt Mall
As this mall plays a very important role in Stranger Things‘ third season, it was extremely important for the producers to get it spot on. After scouting Atlanta’s suburbs for several weeks, looking for the ideal location amongst a good number of derelict malls in the area, Chris Trujillo, the production designer of Stranger Things settled on the Gwinnett Place Mall, a shopping centre situated in suburban Atlanta. Its exact address is 2100 Pleasant Hill Rd., Duluth (an Atlanta suburb)
The Quarry
Actively mined for more than 100 years, the former Bellwood Quarry in Atlanta is the place where all the Quarry scenes of the show were filmed. No mining happens at the place as of now and it has been proposed that the land should be transformed into a Westside Reservoir Park.
Hawkins School
Both Hawkins Middle School as well as the Hawkins High School serve as important locations in Stranger Things, and a major portion of it is driven from both these locations. However, neither of these institutions actually exist in real life. Rather, the producers of the show flipped an institute called the Patrick Henry High School situated in the Stockbridge area of Georgia, into Hawkins School, and made it work!
Hawkins National Laboratory
The place shown as the Hawkins National laboratory in the show is actually Briarcliff Campus of Emory University, situated in Atlanta. While all the exterior shots of the building were filmed on the site, the scenes inside the laboratory were filmed at Atlanta’s EUE Screen Gems Studio.
Hawkins Police Station
Situated at 45, Pray Street, Douglasville in Georgia, this is an aged commercial building that serves as the police station of the town. All the police station scenes have been shot inside this place. Hopper, the police chief can be spotted anywhere out in the fields, metaphorically as well as literally! Although this building serves as an important location for the Netflix show, it isn’t as prominent as you might expect it to be in real life.
Wheeler’s House
Situated at 2530, Piney Wood Lane, East Point, Georgia, this house is where some of the most critical scenes of the show were shot. Although it isn’t for sale as of now, if it were, it’s expected to go for a handsome figure of $196,415!
