Here are 5 of his most memorable films:

Interview with the Vampire. 1994

This epic film is probably where we start to see Pitt in a more versatile manner of acting which left his audience wanting to see more of him. The character he played was a mortal man at first then he tells his story to a present-day reporter of how he was transformed into a vampire. How he adapts himself from the human element to the immortal being of a vampire was exceptional acting. It was based on Anne Rice’s 1976 novel which had a great twist as opposed to vampire movies we were used to.

Snatch. 2000

This British/American crime comedy catapulted Pitt’s career as his acting skills are exceptional in it. He took himself out of his comfort zone by playing an Irish gypsy traveler set in London, England. He made his money by hustling and he was a prize bare-knuckle fighter dealing with the local and British/American underworld meanest characters. Apart from getting the difficult Irish accent right, the humour in it was undeniably fantastic. This is a movie you can watch over and over again and not get tired of it.

Killing Them Softly. 2012

Killing Them Softly is a neo-noir crime film written and directed by New Zealand born Andrew Dominik. It is about three low-life crooks who steal from a mafia poker game. Pitt plays one of the hitmen alongside James Galdofini who the mob mobilizes to get revenge on the thieves. It was cleverly written by Dominik in a style of a black comedy/thriller, the second time working with Brad Pitt. The illegal gambling operation had some funny but dark undertones. Mafia movies are very popular and the acting in this illegal poker game was superb. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. 2008

This fantasy romantical movie is very captivating with a storyline about a man who ages in reverse. Firstly, by being born an old man and then dying as a baby, it was so extreme and yet surreal. Pitt’s acting out through the stages of his aging processes was mesmerizing and compelling to the point of heartfelt sadness at the end of his life. Moreover, watching the love of his life played wonderfully by Cate Blanchett where she had to see him evolve into a baby was very touching to say the least. It is no wonder why he was nominated for the Oscar for best actor.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 2019

This black comedy fantasy movie was another step in a different direction for Pitt, he played a stunt double for a failing Hollywood Star, Leonardo DiCaprio. If you are a fan of Leo, be sure to check out FilmInk’s guide to his best films. The movie was set in Los Angeles in 1969 and was directed by Quentin Tarantino. It includes a twist with the tragic Sharon Tate murders interloping and entwining into this black comedy. The two stars work really well together bringing out the best in each other, making it a very good film.

Conclusion.

Brad Pitt seems to get even more compelling, the more he does the more he gets even better. The man has been in the movie industry now for over 30 years and shows his experience to this present day. A treasure in the crown of the Hollywood elite, the mould obviously broke when he was made. So, thank you Brad for all the years of entertainment you have given us all so far.
