Starring comedian Ivan Aristeguieta, Florence Noble, Francis Greenslade and David Fane, written and directed by Sam Voutas (King of Peking), produced by Melanie Ansley, with a plot described as “a midnight phone call from a friend asking for a favour leads a failed writer to be trapped on a surreal subantarctic island, with darkly comedic consequences”, Yesterday Island has shared the ‘Comedy Vanguard’ award with American film Crystal Cross at the Austin Film Festival.

More recently, the film picked up a Special Mention for International Feature at Cleveland International Film Festival in the US and significantly, the Critics Award at the 44th Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.

Shot in Tasmania on King Island, and premiering at the Warsaw Film Festival, we look forward to the film arriving back on home turf in Australia soon.
