We are, of course, getting another Deadpool movie at some point – the little superhero dick joke movie that could is now the biggest grossing R-rated film* of all time, so a follow up is inevitable. Now, to tide us over, here’s this cute little short, Deadpool: No Good Deed, directed by David Leitch, who is replacing original helmer Tim Miller for the sequel.

This thing first saw the light of day attached to Logan in the US (although not in any overseas territories, including us), which strikes us as an odd choice; yeah, sure, they’re both R-rated Fox/Marvel movies, but one is a grim and wrenching meditation on the nature of violence and heroism, and the other features a lingering shot of Ryan Reynolds’ flattened nethers pressed up against the door of a phone booth. The’re sailing very different seas, thematically speaking, is what we’re saying here.

Still, it’s a fun bit of nonsense. The Hugh Jackman jokes are low-hanging fruit by now, but let’s face it – even when stealing B&J from a dead guy, Reynolds makes for a better Superman than whatever that thing is over at Warners these days. Also: Stan Lee cameo.

Make sure you freeze frame that screed at the end, too.

Deadpool 2 is out at some juncture.

*American R-rated, not Australian R-rated.
