Model, fashion designer, DJ, VJ, TV presenter, musician, and now actor – Ruby Rose certainly has a lot of strings on her bow, but it is the latter one that we’ll be paying attention to here. From a tiny part in the Redfern-set indie drama, Around the Block, and a stint on Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, Rose is building up quite an onscreen presence, with turns in hotly anticipated sequels Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, John Wick: Chapter Two, and xXx: Return of Xander Cage on the horizon, plus a part opposite Jason Statham in the Eli Roth-directed monster shark movie, Meg.
“She’s a lovely person,” Resident Evil‘s Milla Jovovich said of her co-star. “Serious and driven but a lot of fun to be around.”
Jovovich noted that the grueling 14-plus hour days on set were leavened by Rose’s positive energy. “Ruby was amazing, she was always smiling and laughing and having fun. That’s the thing that saves you when you feel like ‘Oh my god I can’t take this anymore, I mean it’s freezing, I’ve been running all night and I’m exhausted’. You need people around who are going to motivate you to do it again.” Asked whether we could look forward to future collaborations between the two of them, Milla seemed very keen on the idea, “Oh gosh, I would love that. Ruby’s amazing, we got along so well. I’m sure at some point we’ll do something together.”
As for what roles the future may hold, Rose has some ideas of her own, as she recently posted on her Instagram:
