“After months of planning, it is amazing to be in Brisbane with the incredible SJc team who are so supportive of diverse female talent,” said Rogue Rubin, who makes her feature narrative debut with Love in Bloom. “What makes this movie truly resonate with me is its charm. We are living in a very isolating period of time where social media is distancing us even more. This beautiful film reminds us of old school values; where families and friends are still the most important people in our lives and that finding true love is more than just swiping right on an app – but learning to open your heart to the person in front of you.”

In the film, successful Chicago florist Amelia (Susie Abromeit) arrives in Australia to support her sister (Melina Vidler), who is about to be married. However, things do not go as planned and Amelia must team up with best man Grayson Tanner (Julian Haig, Riverdale) to save the wedding. Cue sparks.

“The romance genre has seen an increase in demand over the past 12 months which can be attributed to a worldwide desire for escapism and love in a time of uncertainty and despair,” said producers Spencer McLaren and Steve Jaggi. “With its stunning garden backdrop, and a beautiful story at its heart, we can’t wait to share Love In Bloom with audiences later this year.”

“It is a thrill to be here in Australia for the very first time, shooting this sweet story centred around following your heart,” said Abromeit, whose most prominent role was a support part in Jessica Jones. “The whole team here in Brisbane have been so welcoming, and I look forward to making the most of my time in this gorgeous part of the world.”

The Steve Jaggi Company have been very busy of late, producing the likes of Netflix film Romance on the Menu, recent cinema releases This Little Love of Mine and Kidnapped, along with upcoming TV series Dive Club.
