International sales firm Wonderphil Entertainment has picked up exclusive worldwide distribution rights (excluding ANZ theatrical) for Tony Chu’s feature film MR RED BEAN.
The 91-minute comedy-drama features Australian rising stars Alan Zhu and Imogen Trevillion. The narrative follows a misunderstood protagonist wandering Sydney, creatively applying first-aid “treatments” on random strangers with hilarious results, while unaware he’s become a viral sensation. Melding live-action with an anime-influenced sensibility, the film offers a cross-cultural, fish-out-of-water narrative tailored for global family audiences.
“Our goal was to create a relatable, imaginative world that bridges cultures,” stated writer-director Tony Chu.
“In these times, maybe a crazy little comedy is what the planet needs,” said Wonderphil’s Phil Gorn on the acquisition.
