HOYTS Mt Druitt will play host to a red carpet screening of Streets of Colour on Wednesday, August 23. With much of the film set in the suburb of Mt Druitt and surrounds, it will be a memorable evening with cast and crew in attendance to celebrate the film in front of a hometown crowd.

A special event screening at NSW Parliament House on September 20, has also been announced. The event will be co-hosted by Dr Joe McGirr MP, Joint Justice Initiative and NSW Jewish Board of Deputies. A Q&A discussion will follow the screening, exploring the film’s themes and the push to ban Nazi symbols and salutes as part of the Crimes Amendment (Nazi Symbols and Salutes) Bill 2023. The discussion will be moderated by Dr Yona Gilead (The Malka Einhorn Modern Hebrew Director, The University of Sydney).

Writer/director Ronnie S. Riskalla comments “It has been a huge blessing to get the film up on the silver screen, especially with the overwhelming positive response I’ve had from audiences. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the discussions we’ve had in the Q&As and I’m looking forward to Streets of Colour reaching audiences across the country.”

Streets of Colour was written and directed by Ronnie S. Riskalla, produced by Yolandi Franken and is being distributed by Screen Inc. The film explores the complexities of race, self-identity and spirituality, and features a talented cast including Rahel Romahn, Veronica Cloherty, Athiéi, Simon Elrahi and Peter McAllum.
