Get ready for an adrenaline-fueled ride! The highly anticipated 10-minute action short, Tiger Cop: Project A, is set to premiere online on March 17.

A true labour of love, this no-budget indie project was shot over two intense days in December 2024, bringing together some of Australia’s top action performers from Sydney and Melbourne. The film also boasts a special appearance by legendary action star Richard Norton in a pivotal role.

Director Adrian Castro, a lifelong devotee of ’80s and ’90s Hong Kong action cinema, continues his homage to the genre with Tiger Cop: Project A. “The Tiger Cop series has always been my tribute to that golden era,” says Castro. “With this latest installment, we wanted to push the envelope—bigger fights, bigger set pieces, and even bigger villains. Working with Richard Norton, one of Hong Kong cinema’s greatest villains, was an absolute dream.”

Producer Maria Tran, a Sydney/Las Vegas based action filmmaker and performer, shares her passion for the genre: “I grew up watching Hong Kong action films, which have played a major role in shaping diversity and representation in cinema. The moment the idea for this short came up, I knew we had to make it happen.”

A Throwback to Classic Action

Tiger Cop: Project A follows Tiger and Tang as they take down a high-stakes arms deal, leading to an explosive final showdown with White Ghost, Tiger’s arch-nemesis. Expect hard-hitting martial arts, lightning-fast choreography, and relentless action in a thrilling homage to the golden age of Hong Kong cinema.

ABOUT THE TIGER COP SERIES

What started as a 45-second fight scene for Foxtel in 2013 has grown into a globally recognised action series. The viral fake trailers for Tiger Cop 1 & 2 caught the attention of none other than Jackie Chan, leading to a short-form online series for ABC iView in 2017 starring Richard Norton. The Tiger Cop universe has since expanded with Toilet Paper Hero (2020) and Yes Madam (2023), keeping the high-octane action alive.

Now, with Tiger Cop: Project A, the stakes are higher than ever, paving the way for an ambitious next step—a Tiger Cop feature film.
