Get ready for an afternoon of film, flair, and celebration! The 2025 Focus on Ability Short Film Festival Red Carpet Awards will roll out the red carpet on Sunday, November 16, at The Concourse, Chatswood.

This free, not-to-be-missed event will celebrate incredible short films and documentaries that shine a spotlight on the creativity, talent, and achievements of people with disability. From heartwarming stories to powerful perspectives, the Focus on Ability Film Festival continues to inspire audiences across Australia and around the globe.

The evening will feature dynamic performances from MC Wheels and the legendary Rogue Traders (Duo) — ensuring the afternoon is packed with energy, entertainment, and inspiration. This year’s awards are judged by Travis Jeffery, Cinzia Coassin, Nick Hardcastle, Tsu Shan Chambers, David Cameron, Lisa Duff, Yiana Pandelis and Isaac Elliott. Awards presenters for 2025 include Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Ada Nicodemou, James Stewart, Gerard O’Dwyer, Craig Bennett OAM, Madeline Dyer, Isaac Elliott and Ryan Johnson.

Proudly presented by NOVA Employment and major sponsor Australia’s Disability Strategy, this year’s festival attracted 286 finalists from 26 countries, showcasing the remarkable diversity of stories and voices that make this event one of the most unique on the film calendar.
