Spectrum Films and Folklore Sound are excited to announce their enhanced capacity for full-service post-production projects in Brisbane. This expansion comes with the recent addition of two key hires at the West End facility: Kim Bjørge joins the picture department, and Dan Brumm steps in to lead the sound team.
With these strategic hires, Spectrum Films and Folklore Sound are poised to deliver premium post-production services to meet the growing demands of the industry.
Kim, an experienced finishing editor and colourist, joins Spectrum Films as their Brisbane-based Finishing Supervisor and Colourist after 5 years in a similar role at The Post Lounge Brisbane. Kim brings a wealth of experience and talent to the Spectrum/Folklore team with recent credits including Faraway Downs and The Portable Door as Online Editor, and Ricky Stanicky, Audrey and Elvis as Colourist.
Adam Archer, Head of Finishing and VFX at Spectrum Films said: “Kim is one of only a handful of finishing artists in the country that have a very broad technical knowledge and a depth of experience across all picture post workflows. Combine that with his talent as a colourist, and it makes him an incredible addition to our team. Having Kim lead the charge at our Brisbane office, but also working closely with our Sydney finishing team, will be amazing and we are very excited to have him on board.”
Kim adds “It is a dream to be joining Spectrum Films, especially at this time as they are growing their Queensland offering. Spectrum’s reputation speaks for itself in terms of client service, quality and culture, and I couldn’t be prouder and more excited about joining Adam and the Spectrum team, working alongside Sam and Thom and the rest of the Folklore Sound crew, and helping to shape the Brisbane office into the future.”
As the second key hiring, Folklore Sound have officially added Dan Brumm, seasoned Sound Designer and creative talent, to their roster after years of collaboration. Having worked together on various projects, the Folklore team and Dan have decided to formalise the collaboration.
Dan’s recent credits as Sound Designer include the Rock Island Mysteries and Bluey TV series. Sam Gain-Emery, Folklore’s Director, Supervising Sound Editor and Re-recording Mixer explains: “We have had a long relationship with Dan, and partnered on many projects, so it made complete sense to all of us to just formalise our relationship and make Dan a member of the Folklore crew
officially. We are excited about working even more closely together on projects moving forward.”
Dan Brumm says “the Folklore team have been more like a family than colleagues for the last few years, so I am really excited about this new chapter in my career as a member of the crew, as well as having the opportunity to work closely with the Spectrum Films team.”
Sam concludes “both the hiring of Kim on the picture side and Dan on the sound side reiterates our commitment as Folklore/Spectrum to the Queensland market and to delivering the highest quality full post services across all projects to our clients in the state and beyond. Our partnership in Brisbane has already reaped rewards, and we are looking forward to continued growth over the next 18-24 months.”
