After back-to-back tours spanning across the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth, Australia’s premier pop culture convention, Supanova Comic Con & Gaming, is ready to ‘Level Up’ in Adelaide (30 October – 1 November 2026) and Brisbane(6-8 November 2026), announcing its first wave of Supa-Stars slated to attend throughout the epic three-day events.
Joining the fellowship of fandom in both cities is none other than SAG-AFTRA President Sean Astin, perhaps best known to Supa-Fans as Samwise Gamgee in The Lord of the Rings. After making his big-screen debut as Mikey in The Goonies, Astin rose to international acclaim in Peter Jackson’s Academy Award-winning trilogy, before once again capturing the hearts of audiences as Bob Newby in Stranger Things.
You can’t take the sky from Supa-Fans, as the dynamic duo of Alan Tudyk and first-time Supa-Star Gina Torres sign on for Supanova! Browncoats will of course know them as the ultimate sci-fi power couple, “Wash” and Zoë Washburne in Firefly, and its follow-up feature film Serenity.
Beyond his onscreen appearances in A Knight’s Tale, Doom Patrol and more, Tudyk has lent his voice to countless characters, notably finding himself in a galaxy far, far away as K-2SO in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story; a role he recently reprised in Andor, earning him an Emmy nomination.
Meanwhile, Torres has gone from strength to strength, starring in the long-running hit series Suits, and featuring in fan-favourites Westworld, Hannibal, Angel, Alias, and more. No stranger to the recording booth, the debut Supa-Star can be heard as Star Wars’ Ketsu Onyo, Destiny’s Ikora Rey, as well as Keeper Yennen in The Legend of Vox Machina.
From the starship Serenity to the USS Enterprise, sci-fi Supa-Fans won’t want to miss Anson Mount, beaming down in Adelaide and Brisbane. Assuming the mantle of Captain Christopher Pike in Star Trek: Discovery before leading his own, ongoing series in the Emmy-nominated Strange New Worlds, Mount can be seen as Black Bolt across the Marvel Cinematic Universe, also voicing Kaden in Dota: Dragon’s Blood, as well as the titular hero in Batman: Knightfall.
Following the series’ epic Last Act this past June, Supanova is proud to welcome The Amazing Digital Circus stars Sean Chiplock and Amanda Hufford a.k.a. Kinger and Ragatha in Glitch Productions’ animated hit. Chiplock is otherwise known for his starring role as Subaru in Re:ZERO, with both he and Hufford featuring in the global gaming sensation, Genshin Impact.
Finally, comic collectors won’t want to miss the half-shell heroes promising a “turtle-y” terrific time at Novalaide and Brisnova. Co-creator of the phenomenon known as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kevin Eastman will return to Australia alongsideBatman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles artist Freddie Williams II, joining forces with local legend Jon Sommariva of Batman/TMNT Adventures fame.
With three full days of Supa-Powered fun coming to each city, and even more Supa-Star surprises still to come, get ready to secure your tickets from 10am AEST on Tuesday, 21 July. For all the latest news, stay tuned to the Supanova website and @SupanovaExpo social media channels.
