The international and culturally diverse festival will turn ten next year and organisers are looking for short and feature length films that tell a great story and entertain. Filmmakers will have a chance to win $10,000 in cash and prizes.
Organisers are hoping to produce something special for its tenth anniversary.
The 2022 festival showcased a dense program of films at venues and online, over two weeks that included locally made feature length documentaries and short films, and a free online program. It also screened several special programs including an Italian language program, a program from the Athens Short Film Festival, an access cinema program highlighting filmmakers and themes about disability, a youth program and Australia’s oldest female filmmaker program, The Rouge.
“We are excited to have made it to ten years. It’s been great to see the festival grow and develop over the years and we hope to deliver another enjoyable festival next year”, says Festival Director Anna Bourozikas.
The festival is proudly sponsored by the City of Maribyrnong, as part of its Festival City calendar, Deakin University and the Sun Theatre Yarraville.
