RevivaTV has launched a new Australian streaming platform bringing classic black-and-white films to contemporary audiences through colourisation, image upscaling and sound enhancement.
Launched on 20 October 2026, the platform gives viewers a new way to discover and rediscover classic cinema, with selected films revitalised in colour alongside titles presented in their original black and white.
Colourisation is central to RevivaTV’s approach. By offering a fresh way into films that some viewers might otherwise overlook, the platform aims to introduce enduring stories, performances and filmmaking to new generations.
Bringing more eyes to these films can help keep film history alive. RevivaTV aims to support that cultural legacy by renewing audience interest in older works and encouraging their continued discovery and appreciation.
“RevivaTV is about giving these films a new lease on life, combining the enduring appeal of great cinema with the possibilities of modern technology and streaming,” said John Gregory.
Bringing classic films into a new future
RevivaTV is working with Disruptor Post, an Australian specialist in film revitalisation, including advanced image upscaling and colourisation. The collaboration brings together technical expertise and a dedicated streaming platform to connect classic films with new audiences.
The catalogue includes ‘His Girl Friday’, ‘The Gold Rush’, ‘Double Indemnity’ and ‘Night of the Living Dead’. Curated collections help viewers explore familiar favourites and discover lesser-known films, while clearly labelled editions distinguish colourised versions from original black-and-white presentations.
RevivaTV is available at reviva.tv and through the Reviva TV app. A subscription costs US$9.99 per month and includes access to the full catalogue, with no advertising and the option to cancel at any time.
For rights holders, the platform offers an opportunity to extend the life of existing film catalogues and reach fresh audiences. RevivaTV welcomes conversations with screen agencies, distributors, studios, archives and independent rights holders interested in revitalising and distributing classic titles.
