March 21 will see Director Tanith Glynn-Maloney, writer Boyd Quakawoot and producers Meg O’Connell and Drew Grove, and Australian Children’s Television Foundation Head of Content Bernadette O’Mahony, provide an exclusive behind-the-scenes look into the making of the family feature film.

Producers Meg O’Connell and Drew Grove say launching Windcatcher to industry is an exciting milestone in the creative journey for both Unless Pictures and Every Cloud Productions.

“Being a part of the team to bring Windcatcher to life has been a truly rewarding experience and we are thrilled to share this Stan Original, which perfectly embodies the spirit of resilience and camaraderie,” says Drew Grove.

“Unless Pictures and Every Cloud Productions are well known for producing quality content that puts viewer experience first and champions fresh and diverse talent and audiences can expect to continue seeing this in our upcoming projects.” says Meg O’Connell.

The Stan Content Showcase session will take place between 11.45AM to 12.45PM on Thursday March 21 at the Event Centre, Southport 1 and 2.

Moderated by Stan Originals Commissioning Editor, Donna Chang, the discussion will delve into the creative process behind Windcatcher and offer valuable insights into the collaborative efforts that brought this remarkable film to life.

Written by Boyd Quakawoot (Stan Original Series Black Snow, Black Comedy) and Directed by Tanith Glynn-Maloney (AACTA award-winning Finding Jedda, She Who Must Be Loved), this marks Stan’s first project with The Australian Children’s Television Foundation under its family feature film partnership initiative.

Starring Australian singer, songwriter and actress Jessica Mauboy and introducing Lennox Monaghan, Windcatcher is the heartwarming tale of a young Aboriginal boy growing up in regional Australia, and the story of a friendship between an unlikely trio.

Mauboy and Monaghan will be joined by a stellar cast including Kelton Pell, Pia Miranda, Jessica McNamee and young talent Max Turner and Coco Greenwood.
