A Very Street Racer Christmas is a two-part mockumentary (2 x 10 minutes) following the festive antics of 18-year-old Taylor (played by series co-creator, comedian Dylan Hesp) and his mum’s modified Holden Barina.

In the lead up to Christmas, Taylor accidentally runs over Santa Claus and becomes embroiled in a race against time to deliver presents and save Christmas.

A Very Street Racer Christmas is being shot on location this month on Launceston’s ‘blockie route’. It will be rushed to air, streaming on YouTube from Tuesday December 20.

“We’re stoked to see our hopelessly naive P-plater back in his Holden Barina and on a quest for the true meaning of Christmas – which is presents,” Dylan Hesp said. “We can’t wait to return to the blockie route and celebrate Christmas the best way possible, by going round in circles.”

Screen Australia’s Head of Online, Lee Naimo, said: “We’re pleased to support the talented and very funny team for this Christmas instalment of Australia’s Best Street Racer. Taylor will have his work cut out for him this season and we are delighted to see that A Very Street Racer Christmas retains the humour, heart and action that has made this project such a hit with audiences.”

A Very Street Racer Christmas is the third production in the Australia’s Best Street Racer franchise, which, since launching in 2019, has gained a passionate and expanding fan base, resulting in more than two million views online.

The Christmas special will be written and directed by Dylan Hesp and Michael O’Neill, and produced for One Stone Pictures by Nathan Earl and Georgie Lewin.

A Very Street Racer Christmas is a One Stone Pictures production. Principal production funding from Screen Australia.
