NiSFF has never been cancelled, continues to grow and even managed to avoid cancellation due to the COVID lockdowns by the skin of its teeth and is now an IMDb qualified festival event. NiSFF’s longevity is testament to the quality of the films it screens. Many shorts that have won awards and had their world premiere at NiSFF have gone on to win awards at many other festivals around the world.
The 6th edition of NiSFF in 2022 will take place at 8 pm on Fri 18 and Sat 19 Nov at The Royal Exchange Hybrid Theatre Space at 34 Boulton St Newcastle.
NiSFF has screened 2 hours of great short films in all formats and genres from around the world on each night of the festival for the last 6 years and 2022 is no exception. 2022 will see great drama, comedy, horror, animation, experimental and doco shorts from Spain, France, Italy, Finland, USA, NZ, UK, South Africa, Iran, Ukraine, China, Russia, South Korea, Australia and some made closer to home in Regional NSW. NiSFF is genuinely International. Ticket prices are kept more than reasonable and Friday Night is a special discount night and this year will also feature a special ‘Dark Matter’ section of horror, sci-fi, fantasy, macabre and quirky films due to the large number of submissions in those genres this time around.
