The family team of Sundayarvo Productions brings in the New Year with a colourful and engaging new animated series for kids under 6 years.

Writer and creator, Anna Waters-Massey, grew up on Forest Road in Tasmania, a suburban street full of kids. These early friendships, experiences and fun filled memories are the building block for their new series, Forest Road. With the arrival of their first grandchild, Anna and partner Stephen Massey, a 3D animator and musician, were determined to create some nostalgia filled content for young viewers to entertain, engage and stimulate young minds while consciously trying not to drive parents batty.

Forest Road was developed with assistance from the Gold Coast Regional Arts Development Fund and Arts Queensland.

Sundayarvo Productions is a family company based on the Gold Coast who have created and collaborated on a number of music videos, short films and webseries. The close-knit team consist of Anna Waters-Massey, Stephen Massey and Cleo Massey. Between them they have extensive experience in acting, animation, music, performance, writing, teaching and education. They are the team behind the comedy series Stage Mums which aired on Network Ten, and animated series Insta Infamous.

Anna’s parents were a big part of their grandchildren’s lives, sharing creative endeavours, songs and stories with all the children. These memories form the basis of the heartwarming and engaging series Forest Road.

Coco and Billy live with their Mum and Dad on Forest Road. Their best friend Rosie lives right next door and best of all, there is a park at the end of the street. In the first episode we meet our main characters as they all play together in the park exploring spatial awareness as the seesaw goes up and down, the roundabout goes round and round and Billy counts the steps to the top of the slide. The episode culminates in a song incorporating all that they have learned.

As the episodes progress, we meet Billy and Coco’s Nanna who loves to help them prepare food, and sing them songs.

Every episode of Forest Road explores a different learning concept in a fun, colourful and musical way. These include spatial awareness, counting, colours, traffic rules and days of the week.

Episodes range from 3-4 minutes in length and each one consists of a short scene followed by a catchy song, cementing the concept explored in the episode.

Forest Road is a series parents will be happy for their children to binge and is available now on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/@ForestRoadKids/videos
