KOJO has appointed Oscar-nominated creative Genevieve Camilleri as its VFX Supervisor, who will join the company on 5 October, based in its Melbourne studio.
Genevieve brings extensive international experience across feature films and episodic productions. Her credits include Love and Monsters, Captain America: Civil War, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, Mad Max: Fury Road and The Great Gatsby.
She received an Academy Award nomination for Best Visual Effects for her work on Love and Monsters and has built a strong reputation as both a creative and technical leader, having worked across Australia, Canada and Germany.
Working alongside KOJO’s Adelaide-based VFX Supervisor Paul Nelson, Genevieve’s appointment strengthens KOJO’s VFX national leadership across its two studios.
KOJO Head of Post & VFX, Lauren van Rensburg, said the appointment marks an important step in the continued growth of the company’s VFX offering.
“Genevieve is one of Australia’s most highly regarded VFX supervisors, and we’re thrilled to welcome her to KOJO,” van Rensburg said. “Her creative vision, international experience and strong relationships with filmmakers will be a tremendous addition to our team.”
Genevieve said she was looking forward to joining KOJO and contributing to its next stage of growth.
“VFX Supervising is not just about the final pixels on screen. The real magic lies in the journey of how we get there. It is about collaborating with artists, clients, directors and storytellers from all walks of life to bring unique visions to life and make the impossible possible,” Camilleri said.
“I could not be more excited to be joining KOJO. I have followed their work over the years, and they are undoubtedly Australia’s most dynamic boutique post-production and VFX house with artistic integrity at its core.”
Genevieve joins KOJO as it celebrates its 30th year of providing post-production and visual effects services to filmmakers, producers and major studios in Australia and around the world.
