Kate is an accomplished screen executive with over two decades of experience in the Australian industry. Before founding Good Apples, she held key positions as the head of legal and business affairs at Hoodlum Entertainment and as the chief legal officer at Halfbrick Studios, a notable success story in the video game industry. Throughout her career, Kate has overseen the financing, production, broadcast, and distribution of over 60 hours of television content in Australia. In addition, she has played a pivotal role in the development and distribution of video game content, reaching an impressive user base of more than 1.2 billion worldwide. Kate is a media and entertainment partner at Keypoint Law, where she contributes her expertise in the field. Furthermore, she serves as the deputy director of Trade and Investment Queensland, actively involved in promoting trade and investment opportunities within the region.

During this time, she held various roles in creative, commercial, and marketing capacities, contributing to over 70 hours of premium scripted content and the company’s globally award-winning digital projects. She has led acquisition and development of high-profile intellectual property and collaborated with many of Australia’s leading and emerging screenwriters. This week, at Screen Forever, Kerrin is producing the “Storytelling for Change” Panel discussing opportunities for impactful storytelling in the scripted space.
