Ring in the festive season this December with one of the most entertaining Christmas classics, Home Alone.

Conducted by Nicholas Buc, the MSO and MSO Chorus will bring a symphonic dimension to this beloved film when they perform renowned composer John William’s score live to picture.

Home Alone tells the hilarious story of Kevin McCallister (Culkin) who is accidently left behind when his parents (John Heard and Catherine O’Hara) leave for Christmas vacation. Kevin must defend his home against two bungling thieves (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern).

Written and produced by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus, Home Alone (1990) is the highest-grossing Christmas films of all time and made 10-year-old Macaulay Culkin a star. It was nominated for two Academy Awards including Best Original Score for the John Williams compositions. Williams has been nominated for 52 Academy Awards, making him the second most nominated individual after Walt Disney.

Home Alone will be performed at Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne on Wednesday 14 December and Thursday 15 December at 7.30pm.
