Australia’s highly acclaimed Australia Independent Film Festival is back bigger and better this October 2024. Located in Brisbane Australia at one of Australia’s coolest venues within one of Brisbane’s coolest art precincts is the internationally recognized Australia Independent Film Festival.
Known passionately as “the filmmaker’s festival,” AIFF is on track to become Australia’s premiere short film and screenplay festival. Founded in 2017 AIFF has grown from strength to strength and is now a prominent event on the domestic and international film festival circuit.

Including a mixture of local, national, International and world premieres festival attendees will enjoy a fully curated programme of stela short form documentaries, animations, experimental, and drama films. There is sure to be something that pleases everyone.
In 2024 the festival welcomes the return of the highly anticipated SEQ Future Stars. A special program and awards ceremony exclusively for high school students from South-East-Queensland. A jury of invited guests made up of industry professionals and prominent public figures will live score each film screened at SEQ Future Stars before winning films are announced.
