Has it really been five years since we last set sail with Johnny Depp and crew? Apparently so, but in 2017 we’re getting a new voyage, courtesy of directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg (Kon Tiki). This first glimpse really puts the “tease” in “teaser”- there’s no Johnny Depp, only Javier Bardem’s Captain Salazar and Brenton Thwaites’ Henry. And a lot of foreboding.
Plenty of familiar faces are due to show up in PotC 5 – Orlando Bloom is returning to the franchise, as is MVP Geoffrey Rush, plus Kevin McNally and Stephen Graham. New faces include Bardem and Thwaites (obviously), plus Kaya Scodelario and David Wenham. Dead Men Tell No Tales hits Australian cinemas in May, 2017.
