Poor Billy Crudup’s mid-career go-to role appears to be “ineffectual guy”. Not only is he thrust into a leadership role well beyond him in this week’s Alien: Covenant, he apparently can’t keep Naomi Watts happy at home in the upcoming Netflix series, Gypsy.

Watts is Jean Halloway, a therapist who “…begins to develop intimate and illicit relationships with the people in her patients’ lives. As the borders of Jean’s professional life and personal fantasies become blurred, she descends into a world where the forces of desire and reality are disastrously at odds.” Sophie Cookson (Kingsman), Lucy Boynton (Murder on the Orient Express), and Karl Glusman (Nocturnal Animals) co-star.

It certainly looks intriguing – there’s more than a hint of Eyes Wide Shut‘s unnerving combo of iciness and sexiness to the trailer, and that is certainly a fine cast they’ve put together. Let’s just hope it’s not Color of NightGypsy hits the ‘flix on June 30, 2017.
