Actor and voice-over artist, Miguel Ferrer, has died of throat cancer at the age of 61.

The son of actor, Jose Ferrer, and singer, Rosemary Clooney (making him George’s cousin), Ferrer was a prolific performer, appearing in over 45 films and 30 television series over the course of his career. He’s probably best known still for his role in the original 1987 sci-fi classic, Robocop, and his recurring role in the original Twin Peaks. He will be seen in the long-awaited sequel series later this year.

Ferrer’s voice work included the role of the villainous Shan Yu is Disney’s Mulan, and a number of comic book heroes and villains, including Aquaman, The Martian Manhunter, with his final role being that of Deathstroke in the upcoming DC animated feature, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract.

Ferrer is survived by his wife and two children.
