Consulting producer Nicholas Meyer has revealed that Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon star Michelle Yeoh will take a major role in CBS’s Star Trek: Discovery series. It is presumed, but not technically confirmed at this time, that Yeoh will play the lead, a female Lieutenant Commander.
This is certainly good news. Yeoh is a huge talent and no stranger to science fiction – remember her turn in Sunshine? She also ticks a lot of diversity boxes, an element of some importance to the new series according to executive producer, Bryan Fuller. IDIC, folks.
Star Trek: Discovery debuts in March 2017 and will be available on Netflix in Australia.
