We’d never hold up the Transformers movies as shining examples of the narrative arts – although the first and most Spielbergian of them is still worth a drive-by – but we will admit that the technical acumen that goes into putting these Tonka toy travesties up on the screen is impressive.

With that in mind, here’s Michael Bay, man of action, to tell you about what’s happening for the latest installment, The Last Knight. According to the Bayster, not only is this the only native 3D film coming our way this (northern) summer, it’s the first to be shot in native IMAX 3D, a process which basically involves strapping two of those ginormous IMAX cameras together. We also get a look at Bay’s home editing suite, which certainly has a lot of monitors.

Transformers: The Last Knight is in cinemas from June 22, 2017.
