The Sydney Film Festival program is a wealth of wonders for film fans, but one item really catches they eye: Mel Gibson will be participating in the Talks program, appearing in conversation with noted critic Gary Maddox.

Gibson stars in the action thriller Blood Father, which is screening as part of the festival. Directed by Jean-Francois Richet, the film sees Gibson as an ex-con tattoo artist who is drawn into a web of violence in an effort to save his daughter (Erin Moriarty) from drug Dealers. William H. Macy and Diego Luna co-star.  Gibson will also discuss his latest directorial offering, the war drama Hacksaw Ridge. It’s all happening at 5pm on Wednesday, June 15, downstairs at the Hub, Town Hall. This is a non-ticketed free event, but it will be worth turning up early to secure your spot.
