The press release describes this event as happening “across Australia” when a more accurate description would be “in one small corner of Australia” but whatevs: Marvel zombies in Sydney and Melbourne can look forward to a special 15 minute preview of the upcoming Doctor Strange movie in glorious IMAX 3D, happening for one night only. If you can get yourself to Hoyts Entertainment Quarter or IMAX Melbourne on October 11 at 6.30pm you can be among the first to get a decent look at Marvel’s upcoming mystical opus in all its Cumberbatchical glory, well before it opens wide on October 27.
Director Scott Derrickson observed, “As a movie fan, I am thrilled to take audiences along on the visual journey of Doctor Strange and give them an early peek at what we’ve been working on. The completed film will feature more than an hour of specially formatted IMAX sequences that will provide audiences with a totally immersive—and mind-blowing—film-going experience and I’m excited to share a taste of that with our fans on 11/10.”
Tickets are only available via a Marvel social media competition from 10am AEST Monday, October 3 – hit up the merry Marvel Facebook page for details. A ticket also scores you a nifty Doctor Strange poster. Meanwhile, here’s another quick clip:
