eOne have just announced that visionary filmmaker Luc Besson (The Big Blue, The Professional, The Fifth Element, Lucy) is heading Sydneyside in July to promote his latest SF opus, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
Based on the French science fiction comics series Valérian and Laureline, by Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mézières, the film sees Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne as two special operatives in the far future on a mission to the breathtaking city of Alpha, a mega-melting pot home to species from all over the universe that is under threat from a mysterious dark force.
Besson will be in town on Monday, July 31 to introduce a special screening of Valerian the evening – exact details are forthcoming.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is in cinemas from August 10, 2017.
