Aussie indie feature How Do You Know Chris? kicks off production in Fitzroy this week, with cameras rolling in the Melbourne suburb this Thursday, April 26.

Directed by Ashley Harris and written by Zachary Perez, the film seems to be mining a bit of a Great Gatsby vein by way of Waiting for Godot, judging by the official synopsis:

“Protagonist, Chris Black, invites an assortment of people to a mysterious celebration in extravagant style at his Collingwood apartment. No expense has been spared, but the only thing missing is the host. Most of the guests aren’t overly familiar with one another, which changes rapidly as the night progresses through conversations ranging
from politics to sex, but almost every interaction leads to one question — how do you know Chris? A question that allows us to discover the vastly differing, conflicting and complicated relationships Chris has with different people. Once Chris arrives, the truth is revealed as to why these specific guests have been invited.”

Luke Cook (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, Modern Family, Baby Daddy) plays the titular character, alongside Lynn Gilmartin (FOX Sports, Museo), Rachel Kim Cross (Mr Inbetween), Tatiana Quaresma (The Doctor Blake Mysteries), Stephen Carracher (Restoration), Travis McMahon (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries), Dan Haberfield (The Warriors), Susan Stevenson, Jacob Machin (Spirit of the Game) and Ellen Grimshaw (Restoration).

Keep an eye on production over at the film’s official Instagram account.
