Surprising almost nobody, HBO has announced that SF/Western mash-up, Westworld, will be coming back for a second season. The bad news is that second season might not air until 2018.

But let’s focus on the good things! More Westworld! The violent and cerebral show is almost unarguably the best thing on TV at the moment, and it’s great to see it find such a huge audience after it was delayed for so long. Indeed, it’s event TV now, bringing to mind not so much Game of Thrones but Lost, and all the fan-theorisin’ and mystery-boxin’ that came with it. Of course, it’s better than Lost, because it has cowboys – everything’s better with cowboys. And robots. And cowboy robots, come to think of it. Man, this show is great.
