Australian horror director Greg McLean (Wolf Creek) has teamed up with James Gunn (Slither, Guardians of the Galaxy) for The Belko Experiment, which is described as “…a gruesomely funny horror thriller.” Directed by McLean and written by Gunn, the film concerns the employees of a company in South America who “…are horrified when they find out that they’ve become guinea pigs in a company-wide experiment which will lead them to either kill their fellow employees or be murdered themselves. The experiment is masterminded by a mysterious voice which is controlling the loud speaker and instructing the employees to slaughter each other by any means necessary.”
John Gallagher Jr, Tony Goldwyn, Adria Arjona, John C. McGinley, Melonie Diaz, Owain Yeoman, Sean Gunn, Brent Sexton, Josh Brener, David Dastmalchian, David Del Rio, Gregg Henry, Rusty Schwimmer, Gail Bean, James Earl, and Abraham Benrubi star. And that is definitely Gunn’s walking good luck charm, Michael Rooker, in one of the pics.
There’s no word of an Australian release date, but The Belko Experiment will premiere as part of the Toronto International Film Festival’s Midnight Madness program, which runs from September 8 – 18.
